I am a science teacher at High Tech Elementary Explorer. I began my teaching adventure at an afterschool in NYC. I developed and instructed exciting science classes and ran a children's darkroom. In 2015 I moved to California with my partner and a plan to become a teacher. I worked for 2 years as a preschool teacher in Poway before discovering High Tech High. I was an Academic Coach at HTe, where I grew to love project-based learning and inclusive classrooms. I began teaching at HTeX in the fall of 2019 and had the most amazing year exploring science with brilliant students. We all had the opportunity to grow in flexibility as we switched gears for distance learning. This past spring I earned my Masters in Teaching and Learning with a focus on culturally responsive pedagogy and anti-racist teaching. When I am not teaching, I am reading, crocheting, and exploring San Diego with my partner Chris.
